re: Guild Rules

Drunken Parrot is a casual guild. We do not put a lot of requirements on our members, but we still want to keep the guild and its members respectable and respected in the WoW community. Therefore, we're putting just a few common-sense type rules in place.

All the rules below should apply to your demeanor in and out of the guild, as long as you carry our prestigous guild tag. Please use your discretion with things said in all public channels. Drunken Parrot is a respectable guild and we intend to stay that way! Please be mature and respectful in all public channels. Simply put, don’t spam, dont flame anyone in public channel, and always be nice.

I.E. these standards of behavior apply to member’s interactions with other guild members, other players outside the guild, and Blizzard personnel. These rules of course also apply to ALL guild tools (voice chat, vent, guild chat, forums).

* Respect & abide by Blizzard's EULA & rules. If you don't know them, here's the link to familiarize yourself: http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01712p Violations of these rules can result in your account being banned, gives the guild a bad name, and therefore will not be tolerated by our guild.
* We will not tolerate any discrimination based upon basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, veteran status, ancestry, or national or ethnic origin. While a healthy rivalry between in-game factions and races is acceptable, we require civil and courteous behavior towards the real people behind the keyboards.
* Members should refrain from foul language. Adult discussions should be limited to private channels. Please, please, please keep the guild chat clean!
* Spamming & Advertising will not be tolerated.
* Conversations about religion, politics, physical harm to yourself or others and drugs (illegal or otherwise) are strongly discouraged. Please make an effort to not offend or raise unnecessary controversy.
* Keep it short: A lengthy conversation of interest to only two or three people should be taken to a private channel. This includes conversations between RL acquaintances about out-of-game activities. It does not usually include discussion relevant to playing the game, such as discussion of builds for a particular class.
* Keep it sweet: We seek to create an environment that welcomes everyone, and is conducive to enhancing our enjoyment of the game. We expect that people will strive to make the guild chat a pleasant place to be. Feel free to discuss happy things, but keep real-life tragedy, dramaz & personal problems to private discussions and/or offline.
* Everyone is equal - we're all noobs. Let's not make fun of anyone for asking questions.
* Members may not beg for gold or items directly or in chat channels.
* Please don’t beg others for power leveling or dungeon runs. Members may ask for help or seek members for groups in guild chat or voice chat, but such solicitation should be done judiciously.
* Members may not harass other guild members or players outside of the guild. If a player asks you to cease contacting or interacting with them, please respect their wishes.
* All members shall be held responsible for their respective accounts and characters action within the guild. If your friend or family member logs onto your account and stirs up trouble you will be held responsible as though you did it yourself.
* Don't sell your items in guild chat. The auction house and the trade channel are great resources for that. Offering up free items & services to guildies is of course encouraged though.
* Leaving: Guildhoppers are not welcome, our guild is based on longterm friendships. That being said, we understand that our guild might not be a perfect fit for someone and we respect that. We do put time and effort in tracking our playerbase and making a healthy guild. If you have considered things well and wish to leave the guild, you are expected to contact an officer and state why you want to leave the guild. We will use this feedback to improve the guild.
* Remember - it's just a game! We're all here to have fun and /dance.

IMPORTANT: We are NOT RESPONSIBLE for the actions of our members and absolutely CANNOT be expected to control them. We will do what we can to maintain the conduct of what goes on in the guild, but if you feel that any member has acted in an inappropriate way, please take this up with the GMs at Blizzard. Use the guild and its tools at your own risk :-)

These rules are subject to change at any time. Guild members are expected to be familiar with them and to check back here frequently for updates.

Just added the following (and a few other minor edits):
